RM57L843: On-chip Temperature sensors calibration

Part Number: RM57L843
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LC4357,

Tool/software:

Hello,

SPNA216 (TMS570LC4357 and RM57L843 On-Chip Temperature Sensor Measurements) contains an example that demonstrates how to use the on-chip temperature sensors.

The thermistor_calibration routine reads the sensors calibration values on the OPT memory and computes slope, offset and rsquared. What are they? What is the rationale behind the calculations? What is the formula?

Best regards
Marcio.

  • Hi Marcio,

The thermistor_calibration routine reads the sensors calibration values on the OPT memory and computes slope, offset and rsquared. What are they? What is the rationale behind the calculations? What is the formula?

The main purpose of the calibration data is to improve the accuracy in the measurement. Basically, the calibration data consist of the known sample values of measurement and using these known values we will calculate the gain and offset values and using this gain and offset we can improve the accuracy for newly given unknown input.

To understand it better, i would suggest you refer chapter-4 (Calibration) in the below application note:
