TMS570LC4357: Advantages to executing from RAM on the Hercules?

Thanks to jagadish gundavarapu for the run from RAM FAQ linked, very useful.

My question is on whether there's a tangible performance benefit to doing this for critical code / ISRs.

Since the processor doesn't have TCM and therefore cache will be needed anyway for best performance, do we gain much in executing from RAM as opposed to flash?

You are correct, here we don't get much gain in performance in executing from RAM.

The main purpose of providing this execution in RAM is that, in these Hercules series of controllers for few controllers have only single flash bank.

For these single flash bank devices, it is not possible to execute the FAPI code and flash programming both in same bank.

In those situations, we should need to copy the FAPI library into the RAM and then should need to execute the FAPI library from RAM. If we do that then we can program the required data into the same bank. So, for this purpose it is verify useful other than that i don't see any performance differences in executing code from RAM.
