Tool/software:
Hello,
I have a question about the register CTRLMMR_MAC_ID, in the user manual of the chip it says "Reset = X", what does mean X ? Does that mean that after a reset this register takes a random value ?
Thank you

Hello Yanyves Genereux
Thank you.
I suspect X indicates the value is invalid during reset.
Is this a general query or are you seeing some issue?

Hello
Thank you for the answer.
It is a general query to make sure I don't have problem down the line.
Is this value reliable ? If at reset the value is invalid, which component is responsible to fill it after reset ?

Hello Yanyves Genereux
Thank you.
I understand these IDs are latched into the CTRLMMR_MAC_ID register during power-up.

Hello
Ok, so that means after the PBL runs this register has a reliable value that we can use ?
Thanks

Hello Yanyves Genereux
Thank you and agree.
Any time you access the register the programmed MacID is readable.
I just realized Xh may be indicating the value marked above after reset.
This is from the AM62x TRM.
