Hi team,

I am new to programming, please correct me if I have any misunderstandings.

How to configure external registers through MPU? How does the new MPU region map to our OSPI/QSPI so that the flash reads/writes the correct addresses.
From what I understand, MPU regions have permission levels, where overlapping areas follow the permissions of the highest level area. However, I have not observed this behavior. Is there any additional configuration required or what do I need to do?

The Memory Protection Unit (MPU) is a programmable unit that defines memory access permissions. When overlapping MPU regions are configured the last configuration that is done in the SW will be used. For example if CONFIG5 overwrites CONFIG4 (considering they have overlapping regions).

You can directly create MPU region for the Flash, similarly if you want to create an MPU region for the OSPI registers, you can refer the memory map and set up a config accordingly. To create an MPU region on the AM263Px device for Flash, you can add a new MPU ARMv7 instance and use 0x60000000 as the start address. The 0x60000000 is the flash address map. If you want to read Flash data, You should read at 0x60000000 + offset. For read via CCS, you must also ensure DAC or Direct Access is enabled in OSPI registers. DAC is enabled in Flash_Read APIs as well.

The device intended in this FAQ is AM243x which is not same as AM263Px but the controller happens to be the same IP.
