MSPM0C1104-Q1: Handling of Settling Error

Hello,

i have a question regarding the settling error that is needed for calculating the minimum sampling time of the ADC. I found the following thread (https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/arm-based-microcontrollers-group/arm-based-microcontrollers/f/arm-based-microcontrollers-forum/1405790/mspm0g1507-mspm0-adc-time-sampling) that in my opinion describes very good how to work with the formula (to add the settling error as a % value).

But now my question is, when i have determined my min sampling time with a set settling error. Do i have to add the settling error additionally to the TUE? From my understanding it must be added on top, because it is not included in the TUE calculation?

I think you can keep it as the default setting and just make sure the sample rate lower than the spec below will be ok

But how does this influence the values? I need to understand the possible impact of the settling error for the adc conversion in my WCCA. Is it a error that must be added additionally to the TUE in the calculation of the whole error so that i can get a final result?

In my calculation we used a settling error of 2.25% and with this got a min sampling time of 187µs.

The relationship just as the formula mentioned in the datasheet

That is empirical value of the setting error that is no clear formula to get it. For your sampling time 187us(5k sps) that should be no problem normally.
