RM44L520: Microcode Usage in RM44L520 and Certification Evidence for DO-178 / AMC 20-152A

Part Number: RM44L520

Tool/software:

Hello,

We are using the RM44L520 microcontroller and microcode in an airborne system requiring certification under AMC 20-152A and DO-178C. Given the potential use of microcode in the RM44L520, we have concerns regarding its impact on certification.

Could you please clarify the following:

  1. Is the microcode in the RM44L520 qualified by TI for safety-critical applications?
  2. Does the ECC (Single Error Correction, Double Error Detection - SECDED) functionality rely on microcode, or is it entirely hardware-implemented?
  3. Are there any supporting documents, test reports, or certification artifacts that could assist us in demonstrating compliance with safety and certification requirements?

Any supporting documentation, test reports, or certification artifacts would be highly valuable for our compliance process.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks
