Hello,

I am facing same issue as explained here here in TI forum

I tried to import the example code attached by jagadish gundavarapu , however, I faced some errors, I have attached them here.

Please let me know why CCS does not detect the board "XL2-RM46" and why the example code doesnot work

Hi Vijetha,

do you mind to provide the CCS version installed and the list of compilers on your system? It seems the one in the error messages is missing.

thanks, that is latest CCS version based on Theia. The 12.x releases mentioned in the other thread are still based on Eclipse. Now I am not sure what ARM compilers are installed in your system. You can always get any version supported through https://www.ti.com/tool/ARM-CGT

Please install the compiler version mentioned in the error messages and try again. If you still run into the issues then the supplied example is not fully compatible with CCS 20. CCS 12.8 installers are still available from ti.com and you can install this in parallel with the newer version. https://www.ti.com/tool/download/CCSTUDIO

Why am I not able to detect the board in CCS? I am also not able to add this device AUNCHXL2-RM46 manually.

Can you point me to correct version of SW to download?

Can I download CCS 12.8.1 and ARM-CGT-CLANG?

Yes, of course. See the links above. In my CCS 12.8 I had to run the installer again and add the "Hercules MCU" package. Only then I can create target configs for RM4x devices. Unfortunately I do not have such a board at hand.

I am not sure what you mean with "detect the board". I usually create a target configuration file for the emulator and the target device. This has a button "Test Connection" which runs a JTAG test with a connected board. In case necessary USB Drivers are installed (usually come with CCS) then this test should pass. From that on you can use debug options in CCS based on the new target config.

I have now installed CCS Version: 12.8.1.00005 and I am able to build the example code. I did not have to install any additional compiler for this.

can we close this topic? Your last comment is not clear if you are also able to debug the board by now.

I did not try to debug the board. I could run the example and flash it on to the EVAL kit.

Yes you can close this topic. But it is sad to see that lower version of CCS is required to use with RM46 and the latest one doesn't work
