I am interested in Hercules Microcontrollers, which is SIL2/3 complains.

We are working on the Railway project.

we are using Embedded C+ FreeRTOS.

Other requirements are,

Flash size 4MB (minimum), RAM 512 Kb, and expected interfaces/ Peripherals are ADC, SPI, CAN, I2S, I2C, Ethernet, UART, USB, Motor driver

Hi Abey Mathew,

All the Hercules family of controllers will support the SIL2/SIL3.

You can use either RM57x or TMS570LCx series of controllers to meet your requirements, the only problem is that none of these controllers have USB inbuilt.

And also, we have some other functional safety controllers in AM2x series. I will loop with you my marketing team so that they can guide you well in choosing the device that meets all your requirements.

Hi ,

We may not have a perfect solution to meet all the requirements but we do have couple of options.

There are newer products like the F29H85x devices , these should meet majority of these requirements barring mainly the USB and Ethernet.

If these are must we have the AM263Px devices which will have the Ethernet with inpackage flash of 8MB barring the USB.

If there is flexibility in the Flash , we also have the AM261x devices which could meet rest of the needs.

we are looking for a MCU which support SIL2 and SIL2 certified safety functionality libraries.

This is for railway domain not for Automotive.

ASIL B is generally considered as equivalent to SIL2 , but notable changes are required when it comes to achieving SIL2 compliance, particularly related to the software stack and safety critical functions.
