MSPM0C1104: DAP Connection Error in MSPM0C1104 During Code Flashing

Part Number: MSPM0C1104
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , SYSCONFIG

Tool/software:

Dear Sir,

We are currently using the MSPM0C1104 microcontroller IC in our BLDC fan application. Initially, the microcontroller functions correctly, and we are able to flash the code smoothly 3 to 4 times.

However, after a few successful attempts, we consistently encounter a DAP connection error during flashing of code (Using LP-MSPM0C1104 LaunchPad kit for code flashing).

The system prompts for a force reset/factory reset, but even after performing the force reset, the same error persists. The error continues to appear until we replace the microcontroller with a new one.

We have observed that this issue started occurring after we began working with PWM configuration using the SysConfig tool.

For your reference, we are attaching:

  • A picture of the LaunchPad used for code flashing

  • Screenshots of the error message

  • The configuration settings we are using for PWM

We request you to kindly investigate the root cause of this issue and advise us on the necessary corrective actions.

Thanks & Regards

  • Hello Khushi,

Sorry for the delay on my side, have you been about to fix this issue?   I would suggest trying to factory reset the device and reporting back.  You can do it via CCS (steps here) or via this online tool: https://dev.ti.com/gallery/view/TIMSPGC/MSPM0_Factory_Reset_Tool/ver/1.0.2/

I don't see how the PWM configuration could affect the chip, unless the PWM channel is connected to something that could maybe damage the chip somehow.

Please let me know if you are still seeing this issue and if a factory reset has any affect.

    Thanks,

    JD

  • Hello JD,

No, my issue is not fixed yet.

When we tried to do factory reset then it again shows the same error as previous one (i.e. DAP Connection Error).

    Thanks & Regards

  • Hi JD,

I am still facing the same issue even after trying factory reset. Kindly let me know what we should have to do next to fix this issue.
