Hello TI Support Team,

We are currently performing SIL4 (EN 50128 / IEC 61508) certification for a railway application.
In 2019, our team received the following official documents from TI regarding TI ARM Compiler v5.1.8:

  • Closed Defects in Release.pdf
  • Open Defects in Release.pdf

These have been used as evidence in our Tool Qualification Report (TQR) for “Known Bug Avoidance.”

For our certification update as of 2025-06-15, we kindly request your confirmation on the following points:

  1. Do the above documents still represent the latest and complete defect list for TI ARM Compiler v5.1.8?

  2. If any new defects have been reported or identified for v5.1.8 since 2019, could you please provide an updated defect list in the same format (Closed/Open Defects)?

  3. If no updates exist, please confirm that the 2019 documents remain the latest available from TI.

We would greatly appreciate your official confirmation or updated documentation, as this will be directly attached to our Tool Qualification Report as certification evidence.

Thank you very much for your support.

  • Hi Haemin Park,

Apologies for the delayed response, and here is the feedback from our internal compiler experts:

Arm compiler version 5.1.8 was released in September 2014.  The 5.1.x series of releases went inactive in late 2015 or early 2016.  The attachment is the defect history of the final 5.1.x release, which is version 5.1.14.

    DefectHistory_5114.txt

As old as that is, it is the most recent information we have.  After that time, when a new issue gets reported, we make no attempt to determine whether any 5.1.x release is affected.
