SM470R1B1M-HT: Code lock issue - ways to pre screen parts

Specific date codes for that IC are code locked and they can't be programmed; these are units that have never been programmed. The code we are dealing with is 1928A

  Can you please take a screenshot that shows any message indicating that the part cannot be programmed when it is a virgin device? 

This is an example; this issue has been reported before in these forums but never completely closed that I can tell.

 SM470R1B1M-HT: Customer has some issue on this device that Memory Security locked can't unlock. 

Key part of my question is if there is a socket or anything equivalent that allows us to screen these parts before they are soldered on a PCBA. Our package is the HKP (S-CQFP-G84).

  Can you please tell me from where you purchased these parts from?

The specific date code (1928A) was purchased from Mouser; we also have 27 units with date code 1930A which were purchased from TI Direct and 13 units with 1933A also purchased from TI Direct. We do not want to keep on risking failures at PCBA level - this is why we are looking to see if there is a way to screen the parts via a socket

  Do you already have a socket board? If you have a socket, you can certainly do a screen for the parts using the socket before the final PCB board. 

We do not have a socket board; is there a socket that is available or do we have to custom design one?

 Unfortunately, there is no socket board available. You would need to design a custom board with a socket on it.
