MSPM0G3507: Documentation of DMA features in MSPM0G Reference Manual

Part Number: MSPM0G3507

The current revision C of the MSPM0G reference manual lists the following DMA features:

The older revision A had the following feature table:

MSPM0G_ReferenceManual_RevA_DMA_Features.png

I expected that in the newer tables the features of "DMA_A" would match the older table, but according to the newer table a "DMA_A full-feature channel" would not support repeated mode.

I think this is an documentation error.

The latest revision C of the MSPM0G3507 datasheet also lists support for "repeat mode" (which is possibly the same as "repeated mode"):

But according to this table "stride mode" is not supported, which does not match the tables from the reference manual?!

This is really confusing and inconsistent. Can anyone clarify, which DMA features are supported for the different MSPM0G variants?

  • Hi Roland,

    Sorry for the confusion.

The MSPM0G3507 should support DMA_B type, as I confirm the repeated mode is applicable in this device.

The datasheet should need a fix, I will forward this issue to document team to take a fix. Thanks for your feedback.

  • Thank you for forwarding this issue to the documentation team.
IMHO the datasheet needs clear references to the terms used in the Reference Manual:

    • is DMA_A or DMA_B implemented by a device variant
    • features listed in tables should be presented in comparable order an with identical names (e.g. "Repeat Mode" vs. "Repeated mode")
