AM2434: Request for confirmation of Profinet IRT Legacy fix schedule

Part Number: AM2434

Hello Kamil, hello TI team,

to be able to plan our project milestones reliably, we need a formal and verifiable confirmation regarding the IRT-related issue discussed in thread "AM2434: Interoperability issue on AM243x‑EVM – Devices behind DUT lose connection".

In the past, there were cases where an initial statement like "the IRT fix should already be in this version" was later corrected to "after double-checking, it will only be in the next release".
This is absolutely understandable, these things happen, but it also means that a general verbal confirmation on the forum is unfortunately not sufficient for any project planning on our side.

To avoid misunderstandings, please provide us the following explicit and verifiable information:

1) Is this IRT Legacy issues successfully resolved in your defect tracking bug system?
Please confirm whether the bug is marked as fixed, successfully tested and ready for release.

2) Is this IRT Legacy bug truly included in the planned April 2026 release?
Which Industrial Communication SDK version is expected to contain the fix?
We understand that plans may shift, but we need an explicit number, not only "next release".
For example:
"The fix is currently targeted for Industrial Communication SDK aa.bb.cc.dd planned for release in the week of April DD, 2026."

3) Since this fix directly affects our project timeline, could you provide a pre‑release / engineering build containing the patch?
Alternatively, could you provide the specific component binaries or ICSSG firmware image that includes the fix, so that we can validate it before the official SDK release?
This would significantly reduce integration risk on our side.

Thank you very much. Providing these explicit items will help ensure that our schedule aligns with TI's roadmap and avoids misunderstandings.
We appreciate your support.

Best regards,
Vit

  • Hello Vit,

I understand your situation and I already discussed this internally.

1/2. I worked on the issue you mentioned with the responsible team and it was resolved back then. However, I will verify the current situation once again next week and send you a confirmation. By the way, the official release will be this month. We're currently doing intensive tests and you will be able to do the same on your side soon.

    3. Unfortunately custom deliveries and urgent bug fixes are only available for premium contracts. If you are interested in this model please reach out to your regional sales representatives.

    Kind regards,
    Kamil

  • Hi Kamil,

    Thank you for your support.

    1) I appreciate that you will re‑verify the current status of the IRT Legacy issue.
We are looking forward to your confirmation, as this matter has a direct business impact on our project planning and on the commitments we must communicate to our customer.

    2) Regarding "premium features" and "premium support", could you please provide more technical details?
For example, how this relates to 1000us versus 250us IRT performance?
How they are activated, and what deliverables or guarantees they provide?
We would like to understand what the "premium features" and the related "premium support" options technically include.

    3) Are "premium features" and "premium support" the same commercial offering, or are they considered different topics within TI?
Could you also clarify who should we contact for the Czech Republic (Central Europe)?

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Best regards,
    Vit

  • Hi Vit,

    1. The responsible team also confirmed the integration of this fix into the next release (this month). Nevertheless I advise you to re-test your special use-case on your side and confirm the correct behavior once you get the new deliveries, because we are currently focusing on the overall automated conformance tests for the release.

    2. Standard and Premium features are listed in PROFINET datasheet (in the documentation), you may see all the differences there. For example, standard release supports a minimum cycle time of 1ms while the premium goes down to 250us. To activate this you need a premium delivery that can be provided to you through your regional representatives.

    3. Don't you have any contact person from the sales team? I believe they can clarify this point for you.

    Kind regards,
    Kamil

  • Thank you for the information.
Unfortunately, we do not know a TI contact person responsible for this topic.

The following links, which were found by us independently:
    www.ti.com/.../contact-us.html
    www.ti.com/.../customer-support.html
are too generic and do not help us to reach the appropriate department or people who can discuss Premium Industrial Communication SDK features, pricing, availability, and delivery (specifically Profinet IRT and EtherNet/IP topics).

Could you please be more explicit and specific?

    Ideally, we are looking for:
    - a direct contact (email or phone) to the responsible team or product manager,
    - a regional TI Industrial / Embedded sales or applications contact for Central Europe.

Alternatively, could someone from TI proactively contact us to start this discussion?

We would like to open a concrete discussion about Premium Industrial Communication SDK options for AM243x.

Thank you in advance for your help.
    Regards, Vit
