AM263P4-Q1: Resolver Integration

Part Number: AM263P4-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM263P4

Hi team,
For the resolver integration with AM263P4 RDC module,we have provided a single ended sin and cos  tto RDC0 as per the below image ,using sequential mode 1
Could you please confirm us whether RDC0 will sample the SIN and COS simultaneously.
I have attached the schematic and Mode 1 image for your reference

  • Continue the same query,

Which Mode is preferred for RDC processing either Mode 0 or Mode 1. Please explain the difference between Mode 0 and Mode1.

    ......

  • Hi,

As seen in the Table 7-124. Resolver Sampling Modes and Figure 7-141. Mode -1 of AM263Px Technical Reference Manual, in Mode 1 just ADCR0 samples both Sine and Cosine samples. First Sine is samples and then Cosine is samples. Please do refer to the Note in the table or the Repeat Block shown in the Figure 7-141.

Since in the schematic you have shared has Sine connected to ADC_R0_AIN0(T18) and Cosine connected to ADC_R0_AIN2(U18) pins, Modes 0 and 3 cannot be used. Modes 1, 2 for Single Resolver and Modes 4 and 5 for 2 Resolvers can be used. Please do note that Modes 2 and 5 have averaging enabled.

Please do refer to the labels given the images for more details.

    Thanks,
