EEPROM LM4F232H5QC ROM

Why have API drivers for the internal EEPROM of the LM4F232H5QC not been included in the ROM?

I am using the standalone StellarisWare EERPOM driver library instead, no problem.

I'm just curious and surprised it wasn't included into the ROM

  • Isn't the inclusion of EEPROM relatively new w/in Stellaris?  And - as EEPROM is available in a somewhat limited number of Stellaris MCUs - perhaps such ROM inclusion hard to justify.

In the olde days - ROMs required custom mask - iirc 3-8K USD set-up/mask charge - and boss "comforted" with, "You better get this right!"

  • haha yes, whenever I read an errata sheet I always wonder what it must be like to be in one of those meetings where you have to tell the boss there is an error on the silicon or ROM of a device that gets manufactured in those high quantities! :)
