Configuration:

Serial (UART)

Reset MCU after program.

I get the following after a successful UART program session. "ERROR: Failed to reset the board!"

My board does in fact reset as requested. I am not sure what the LM Flash Programmer Tool is expecting to see in order to confirm a successful reset?

Further disclosure.

Development tools: CCS v. 5.5 - although my question relates to field firmware upgrades using LM Flash Pgm.

Port: UART0, 460800 baud.

API invoked by my application: ROM_UpdateUART();

Clock: PIOSC divided by 2 = 8MHz

Hello Scott,

We have seen the issue with the LMFlashProgrammer and it arises from a missing Sync on RESET Command which executes the Reset sequence but not the full transmit of the ACK Packet. That is what we are trying to fix, but this will not affect the function of the LMFlashProgrammer.

By the way, Which one has the issue, LMFlashProgrammer or Tiva device(ROM boot loader) ?

Hello Taka,

No, it will not affect the function. Also the LMFlashProgrammer latest version is 1613 and not 1601 (Just Info). The issue is in the LMFlashProgrammer software interface

That means LMFlashProgrammer don't perform the "Reset MCU after program" function?
Or, the Reset MCU is performed, but the error occurs?

As our customer reports,
It seems to be performed "Reset" on Tiva after program. But the error message gets from the LMFlashProgrammer

This issue is occurred on the custom board using TM4C1231D5PMT7.
However, we have never seen the issue using following evaluation boards.
EK-LM4F232
EK-TM4C123GXL
EK-TM4C1294XL

Why this difference occurs?

if it is boot rom, the boot loader of the new revision does not return an full ACK?

My customers are worried about whether the device revision(bootloader) problem.

The boot rom has not been changed for the production version, so the problem does not arise with the device revision.

Hello Amit,

The clock is supplied from the Precision internal OSC(16MHz) on the customer board and ROM Boot loader is running when programming from LMFlash Programmer.
This is the same also in the evaluation board.
