usb_dev_cserial not working

Hi,

I am using tm4c1294 board with CCSV6. I am trying out 'usb_dev_cserial' example but it is having some issues.

I have connected both USB ports to the PC, started the Tera Term but it only shows one port to select.

in PC -> Device Manage, other USB port is not recognizable (getting Yellow '!' for the USB port). Getting error as 'Device Descriptor Request Failed' when try to update the driver. I checked usbser.sys file and TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.0.12573\windows_drivers folders and all looks fine.

Can you help me to debug it?

I want to send some data from I2C or ADC channel to host (PC) system so started with usb_dev_cserial example. Any guidance will be helpful.

PC is Windows 8 64 bit.

Did you download the software package for USB Windows example from ti website. It will contain the missing drivers for the usb_dev_cserial

Hi Amit,

I downloaded the example from ek-tm4c1294xl. But still PC is not able to resolve the USB device.

If the reference is not correct, can you please send a link from where to download?

Hi Amit,

I have installed SW-USB-win-2.1.0.12573.msi in PC but still it is not able to recognize the board.

Screen shots are attached for more reference.

Somewhere I read that Tiva C Series Drivers for USB do not work on Windows 8. If it is true is there any work around?

Hi Amit,

I tried with the link. Now in Device manager it is showing as Generic Bulk Device but still its not working. Following is the screen shot for same.

I tried to update the driver but that is not solving problem.

While I run USB example.exe it is still showing as device not connected with Error code:1167

Any thoughts for solving this?

To add in, System is Windows 8.1 64-bit, CCSv6. On board Jumper setting done as USB-OTG with ICDI.

Hello Bhavesh,

When you open the driver, what is the message it shows? Please uninstall the driver and re-do. Sometimes a reboot of the PC helps

Hi Amit,

I tried to un-install and re-install the driver 4-5 times after every fresh installation when I start the example, it shows same error message as mentioned in earlier 'Scrren Shot.pdf' file. Error is as below

Unable to initialize the Bulk USB Device. Error code is 1167 (The device is not connected)

I even tried with disabling Driver enforcement, but still same issue.

I am using Windows-8.1 64 bit. Earlier while we were testing on Windows 7, it was working as expected.

Any particular reason for not working on Windows 8.1 ?
