TM4C129X Development Board, qs-weather app - 'server busy'

Just received the DK-TM4C129X development board.  Followed the Getting Started Guide for the Quickstart Application. As instructed, connected the board to the internet via ethernet, and powered on the board.

Am having some issues with the default qs-weather application. On starting the board, the application loads up, and a "waiting for data" message is displayed, however after a few seconds a "server busy" message is displayed and there is no change after this. Have attached the respective screens.

I have checked the internet connectivity, there is no issue with that. Am not able to identify what the issue is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks & regards

  • Hello Yash,

Is this the same for all of the cities? Are you behind a proxy server? If so, then please enter the proxy settings of the server. The settings page on the "qs_weather" app can be accessed by clicking on the screen and clicking/dragging the "settings" icon that appears on the top of the screen.

Which version of TivaWare are you using? If you are using a version older than 2.1.2.111, please use the latest one as this application was updated, as OpenWeatherMap had modified their APIs.

Did you perform this test at multiple different times? Sometimes the server is busy or out of service - I had this issue once before. If you are facing the issue again, can you try to access http://openweathermap.org/ in a web browser and see if you get the same error?

I had just performed the test a few minutes ago (with TivaWare version 2.1.3.156) and the weather gets updated for all the cities.

    Thanks,
    Sai

Thank you so much for the reply, I was using TivaWare version 2.0.1, hence the issue. Just downloaded and installed the latest version of TivaWare. Everything is working perfectly now.

    Thanks again for the help!!
