reading gpio using udma on tm4c1294

The system clock I assume is 120MHz. This gives a factor of 15 for a 8MHz signal. If this is a single request then it should be possible.

What is the end application that you are targeting so that we can be more specific .

It will be multiple consecutive calls. I am tring to read data 8 bit jpeg data from OV2640 camera synced by its pclk.

Of course there are bit banged versions as well as dedicated camera module devices also available that I must put out. But with a web server example (I don't think I have seen any).

I actually got it working by just reading digital I/O, but i have to drop the pclk down to 2.5Mhz and thats too slow.

OK. In this case the PCLK was I believe 15MHz.

15Mhz using the bit banging method or EPI method?

The PCLK of 15MHz is using EPI. In the web server example it would not be that critical as the page designed refreshes once every 3 seconds. But for the on-board LCD display it will result in 30 FPS.
