TM4C123GE6PM: CANopen example code on TM4C123G

Part Number: TM4C123GE6PM

Dear Experts

Do we have CANopen example code on TM4C123G?
Can we provide the source code to customer or they have to contact with 3rd party?
Thanks for your comment.

  • Hi,

Not speaking for/instead TI or others, just as normal user: a code example (not for TM4C, but general) can be found here.

As for "3rd party" problem, depends on what you do with that code. Selling products with CANopen would imply a conformity test/validation with CANopen organisation, to be sure there will not be any conflicts when using with other CANopen boards on same bus.

There are some other brands which sells Cortex-M3 micros with CANopen stack embedded on-chip, in ROM area.

  • Dear Petrei

    My email is jeffchiu@ti.com.
Could you send me an email privately for this issue?
    Thank you.
  • Hi,
What not using PM (ask for friend)? I do not why I cannot send such message to you at this moment
  • Dear Petrei
I heard that we do provide the CANopen example code on Stellaris M3 platform before.
Could you share the example code to my email (jeffchiu@ti.com)?
    Thanks for your support.
  • Hi,

The PM is disabled on this site or only my page does not show the options to ask you as friend and send messages? Can you try that?

I do not know of any CANOpen package on old Stellaris forum, you can search it.

The link provided in my first post on this thread must of coarse improved with a file for Tiva  - unfortunately I do not have a Tiva example to share - my code is under NDA restriction. However, this link has a good example to follow.

Please note it will be useful to read this book:

Olaf Pfeiffer, Andrew Ayre, Christian Kendel: "Embedded Neworking with CAN and CANopen", RTC Books, San Clemente, 2003, ISBN 0-929392-78-7

to better understand the messages structure and operation.

  • Dear Petrei
I saw some discussion on E2E talking about the CANopen example code in Stellaris.
