Hello,
I'm developing the firmware for a safety critical application where we need to failures that could result in incorrect analogue input samples. We plan to sample safety critical inputs on a given input pin with both of the ADCs and cross check the samples in software for agreement. However, it is not clear to us from the datasheet or reference manual if each ADC has its own independent input multiplexer or not. Is anyone able to confirm that this is the case?
We'd like to be able to ensure that a failure in the input multiplexer which resulted in the wrong channel being addressed could be detected by comparing to the sample from the other ADC. Is this how the 16 channels shared between the two ADCs are intended to be used, or does this only protect for failures in the ADC itself?
Many thanks
