CCS/RM41L232: About [CPU9] : LBIST Auto-Coverage of safety manual, how to realize on the system.

Part Number: RM41L232

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I am working ont RM41L232 and From its safety manual, about CPU9 safety feature, I know little about it.

so in our system how do we realize this safety feature?

or this chip on hardware has realized it?

Thanks.

  • Hello Lily,

This feature is enabled by hardware, and can not be configured by software.

The LBIST diagnostic is based on a 128-bit signature capture. For a given test, only one code is valid out of 2^128 possibilities. Therefore, if there is a fault in the LBIST logic, it is extremely unlikely that the correct passing code will be generated via the fault. The cyclical check applied by the LBIST module provides an inherent level of self checking (auto-coverage), which can be considered for application in latent fault diagnostics. This means no action is required by the customer. LBIST test itself will automatically test the LBIST logic.
