TMS570LC4357: L2FMC diagnotic questions

Hi QJ,

Given your earlier response that  the port A and port B access to flash banks is fixed (port A: CPU and port B: DMA), then is it safe to assume that if the customer is not doing DMA access to flash then they only need to run diags on port A?

The diags will be running from non-flash so I assume as long as a CPU access is made it will test port A as configured? I want to confirm so I'm not miscommunicating the expected behavior

Thanks!

  • Hello,

The CPU uses port A to access the flash, and other peripheral masters (HTU, FTU, EMAC) use portB to access the flash. If the HTU, FTU, and EMAC don't access the flash, port B is not used. So they don't need to run diags on port B.
