Hi,

We have TM4C1294XL connecting launch pad and working profinet code got it from  http://www.port.de. I want to integrate the profinet code with the TM4C1294NCPDT controller in code composer studio. I tried with the enet_io example code. I am getting some errors. I don't know whether it is the right thing to integrate the C source code with ccs or not. Is there any extra hardware needed to get working with the profinet. If needed inform me which hardware needs to be integrated. if ccs is enough then, explain to me how can we integrate with profinet.

    Hi,
    We don't have any experience with the industrial profinet. My understanding is that the profinet uses traditional Ethernet hardware and software to define a network that structures the task of exchanging data with the programmable controller. Correct me if I'm wrong. I think the profinet is more like an application layer that uses TCP/IP for non-timing critical data exchange but for real time operations it needs to be able to talk to the Ethernet at the link layer thus bypassing the TCP/IP. This is how much I know. With that much said, we have no example or guidance to offer on integrating profinet. Hopefully some community members can offer some advises here. I will also suggest you talk to the party where you get the profinet code from for suggestions.
