TM4C1290NCPDT: Flash First Time Programming

I need to perform a first time programming of the MCU internal flash during board manufacturing (custom board).

I am interested in the ROM TivaWare Bootloader update via USB DFU interface.

In a fresh new MCU, is it garanteed that the ROM bootloader is executed on POR? (In my understanding it happens if the flash word 0x4 contains an erase word 0xffffffff)

Hello Luca,

Yes for a fresh MCU the flash will be empty and the ROM bootloader will be invoked.

Note that the ROM Bootloader will check for an Ethernet connection and that can trigger errata item ETH#03 so make sure you have the workaround for that included in your schematic: www.ti.com/.../spmz850g.pdf

Just to be sure, for microcontrollers of the family tm4c1290 that do not include ethernet interface this errata (ETH#03) is not applicable, is it?
