Hi All,
I am using ti rtos tirtos_tivac_2_16_01_14 with CCS version 9.1. I want to use external flash memory MX25L128 using spi along with FatFS file system.
Can anyone help me with how to use this and what code I need?
Thanks
Hi Charles,
This is for sd card. I want to use for external flash through spi.
Thanks
Hi Charles,
I tried this with a sd card. But I want to use 16MB flash memory on the DK-tm4c129x board with fatfs file system. This example is using the sd card.
Also, I want to know how fatfs file system will work with low-level drivers. I mean how the addresses and sectors are assigned for the particular file or text which we want to save on the flash.
Regards,
Akhilesh
Hi,
I check and we can use flash memory instead of sd card but removing the jumper connector 13, 14 from J7 on board dk-tm4c129x. But when I did this, I am getting this error-
Starting the FatSD example
Drive 0 is mounted
Creating a new file "fat:0:input.txt"...Error: "fat:0:input.txt" could not be created.
Please check the Getting Started Guide if additional jumpers are necessary.
Aborting...
Any idea what else I need?
I removed the sd card also to make sure it is only using flash. I am using fatsd example as mentioned above.
Thanks
Hi,
Can you please take a look at this post with replies/example from Todd and see if it helps?
Hi Charles,
AS Todd said there- I would not try to use the SDSPI for the MX66L5.
I want to know why? I have in my system both the sd cards and flash. And I am using sdspi for sd card. Also, in that example, why I am not able to use sdspi for flash.
Thanks
Hi,
I see you open a different post at https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/other/f/908/p/861713/3188579#3188579 asking similar question which is being helped by out TI-RTOS expert Todd. I will suggest you continue your conversation with him in that post.
