TM4C123GH6PM: Where to Find FreeRTOS/Ti-RTOS Demo and Ported code for TM4C123 Controller?

We are using TM4C123GH6PM controller for our product development. I need help to start with FreeRTOS/Ti-RTOS for my project. I prefer to use FreeRTOS.

I searched into TivaWare_C_Series-2.2.0.295 examples directory but I am unable to find FreeRTOS example in that. Can someone help me to get FreeRTOS code ported on TM4C123 and example code if available?

If FreeRTOS is not ported, where I can get TI RTOS example for the same controller?

Hello Naman,

We don't have a FreeRTOS example provided in the latest TivaWare as we are not in position to support such an example as our expertise lies with TI-RTOS and not FreeRTOS. That said, I am attaching the example from 2.1.4 so you can reference it.

Thanks for quick response! I can go with TI-RTOS, but I would also like to evaluate FreeRTOS on this platform.

The 2.1.4 has an example for TM4C129 platform but I am using TM4C123. Will the same example work for me?

And is FreeRTOS already ported for TM4C123 or do I need to port it?

You can get our TI RTOS for TM4C devices from this page: http://downloads.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/tirtos/index.html

The FreeRTOS example I provided is for TM4C123 and is part of TivaWare 2.1.4.

The project came from C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.4.178\examples\boards\ek-tm4c123gxl\freertos_demo

I got the example code. So, for FreeRTOS I need to use 2.1.4 SDK and not the latest one.

Hello Naman,

It should still work with the 2.2.0 SDK, the example project was just pulled as we are not offering support for the implementation of FreeRTOS on TM4C, so that falls inline with most of our third party offerings where the capability is provided but implementation is up to end users.

The 2.1.4 example project would just need to have the paths edited to point to 2.2.0.
