The conversation started in 2015, and continued in 2017, in this thread about native support for CAN-FD on the Hercules platform.

Has the situation changed in 2020?  Are there plans for native support of CAN-FD on the Hercules platform, specifically any part in the TMS570 family?

    Hi Joe,

    There is a reference design that demonstrates CAN FD communication on Hercules MCUs using an external CAN FD controller (TCAN4550). The reference design is available here:  

    We are also including multiple CAN FD interfaces on our future parts. Please contact your TI sales person for an update on these upcoming parts.

    Hi Sunil, thanks for the response.

    I was aware of the TCAN4550 sample code and reference design, but was wondering more specifically for integrated processor solutions.  I will contact our TI rep, thanks.
