TMDSEMU110-U: Statement of Volatility

Part Number: TMDSEMU110-U
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C1294NCPDT

Is there a brief document that describes the volatility of this device?

It apparently has non-volatile memory due to the firmware updates.

I'm required to have a "Certificate of Volatility" or "Statement of Volatility"

  • Joy,

I understand the ask for the statement, i.e. the emulation logic is implemented on a device with memories(both volatile and non volatile).

However, in this case none of the memories are programmable by the customer, i.e. all programmed memory is to make the device function as a debug probe, and is only controlled by TI or an update released by TI.  There is no method provided to the customer to treat this as a standalone device and program it with their code, nor would there be any method to erase TI's code stored on the device.

Even in this case, is a statement of volatility still needed?  I'm sure we can request it, just want to make sure I'm clear on the ask before I get the right team looped in.

    Thanks and regards,

    Matthew

  • Thank you for the fast reply.

I do still need a complete statement in the form of a single document.

Could you please make that available?

  • Joy,

I will alert the team in charge of the TIVA device that is the core MCU on the XDS110.  They should be able to assist with the statement.

    Best,

    Matthew

  • Texas Instruments does not have a separate "Statement of Volatility" document for the TM4C1294NCPDT microcontroller as the type of memory, size, volatility, protection mechanisms and restore mechanisms are described in the data sheet. Please archive a copy of the data sheet below for use as the "Statement of Volatility" in your records
