TMS320F280049C: How to achieve rising edge delay (RED) on both ePWMxA and ePWMxB outputs using Dead-Band Submodule

Hi,

I found in the Technical Reference Manual that "By adding S6, S7, and S8 in Figure 18-34, RED and FED can appear on both the A-channel and B-channel outputs. "

But from the Configuration Options for the DB submodule (Figure 18-34), it seems that RED can't be realized on  ePWMxA and ePWMxB at the same time.

So I wonder if there is any solution to achieve RED on both ePWMxA and ePWMxB outputs?

    Hi,

    Applying RED on both outputs is not the typical use in case of dead band insertion, which is the primary function of this module.
    But you can do the following if you want the RED to be inserted on both PWM outputs.

    1. For PWMA use S4=0 and insert rising edge delay RED

    2. For PWMB - generate an inverted PWM using AQ (action qualifier) configuration and apply FED via S5=1, and choose inverted output with S3=1. This will in effect be equivalent to RED due to double inversion.

    If this is not matching your requirement, please provide a waveform with expected output so that we can discuss other options.
