TMS320F280049C: Question about TI C2000 Compensation Designer GUI

Part Number: TMS320F280049C

Dear team:

My customer has below questions:

1, What is the correspondence between TI's 2P2Z and 3P3Z routines and the traditional analog compensator TypeII and TypeIII?

2, Is there any explanation for the derivation of the transfer function expression of the compensator in TI C2000 Compensation Designer GUI?

For example, what is the meaning of the coefficients in the red box in the figure below? How to get the value of Kdc?

In the "DCL User's Guide V3.4" document, only the use of various compensators (2P2Z, 3P3Z...) are described, and there is no explanation of related theories.
Does TI have relevant documents for theoretical analysis?

Best regards

  • Hi Green,

The Kdc is the DC gain of the compensator, (p1/z0*z1) is to make the DC gain unity. z0, z1 are the zero location, and p1 is the pole location in frequency domain. These should align with classic control theory in most textbooks.
