TMS320F28377D-EP: topology choose

Part Number: TMS320F28377D-EP

Dear TI:

I am designing a project of 35kW Bi-directional High Efficiency charger, which parameters listed below:

 1. charger mode

      input voltage: three phase 380VAC

      output battery voltage: 100VDC~300VDC

2. inverter mode

      input voltage: battery voltage 100VDC~300VDC

      output voltage: three phase 380VAC

i am confused of which topology should i choose, since the battery current will high up to 200A.

  •  Hello,

I may recommend in reading this application note (if it is new to you) - Power Topology Considerations for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (link to the report) in which a few popular power topologies were discussed with pros and cons analysis. There are also quite a few TI reference designs that can be used as a starting point and here I’d like to suggest two supporting bi-directional energy flow:

    AC/DC: 3-ph, 3-level ANPC/NPC PFC (TIDA-010210)

DC/DC: Dual Active Bridge (DAB) (TIDA-010054)

    Hope it is helpful.

    Best Regards,

    Michael W
