Hi,

I want to access SCIA from CPU2 of F28379D. I've already checked the example code SCI echoback of CPU1 and send dummy data which I can view in the hyperterminal. So my doubt is how can I use the same with CPU2?

Can anybody please suggest what changes to be made/to be added in the code in order to send the data from CPU2?

Did you look at the example that is there for cpu2?

C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_version\driverlib\f2837xd\examples\dual\sci\sci_ex1_echoback

This example shows how to setup both CPUs, and give CPU2 access to SCI-A.

Hi,

Thank you for the quick response.

I installed the new version of C2000 a syou suggested. Actually I am testing the code on a custom made controller card with f28379d as the main processor. So apart from the evaluation module, the gpio pins for SCIA is different and I modified it accordingly.Also we have to select the baudrate 115200 for our application so how can I set it and the LSPCLK accordingly?

I am glad you were able to change the pins accordingly. To set the baud rate, within the example referenced if you look at the 'sci_ex1_echoback_cpu2' project, within the 'sci_ex1_echoback_cpu2.c' file, the baud rate is set through the following lines of code:

    //
    // Configure SCIA for echoback.
    //
    SCI_setConfig(SCIA_BASE, DEVICE_LSPCLK_FREQ, 9600, (SCI_CONFIG_WLEN_8 |
                                                        SCI_CONFIG_STOP_ONE |
                                                        SCI_CONFIG_PAR_NONE));

By default it is setup to 9600 but you can change that to be 115200.

Hi,

As I said earlier, I've edited the code sci_echoback_cpu1 and i've to run it on CPU2. As you suggested, I checked the code sci_ex1_echoback_cpu2.c but i think I've to find an easier solution rather than editing the code again to meet my purpose. So can you please suggest me if there's any settings or files I've to copy from CPU2 code to incorporate on CPU 1 code so that it can work in CPU2?

Hi Arya,

You still need to have two .out files to load (one for each core). The only key steps are the following,

1) In the code for CPU1, make sure you give CPU2 access to SCI-A

    //
    // Hand-over the SCIA module access to CPU2
    //
    SysCtl_selectCPUForPeripheral(SYSCTL_CPUSEL5_SCI, 1, SYSCTL_CPUSEL_CPU2);

2) Setup required GPIO pins for SCI communication on CPU1

3) Use IPC to let CPU2 know that CPU1 has finished initialization. CPU2 can then configure the SCI module/ do the communication

This is all highlighted within the example that I referenced.
