I've been looking into external non-volatile memory for the c28346 processor. However, I'm having trouble finding a flash chip that adheres to the external interface (XINT) boot protocol for the c28x. Do I need a separate controller for the flash chip so that I can program the proper protocol to communicate with the c28x during boot?
Which boot mode are you using?
If I have read your post correctly, you desire to connect an external memory on the XINTF bus and boot from that memory, correct?
If this is the case, look at the "Jump to XINTF" boot mode described in the TMS320x2834x Delfino Boot ROM Reference Guide (Rev. B).
The Parallel XINTF boot mode is not for connecting to memories, but to an external host processor whereby the TMS320C28346 is throttled by the GPIO12 and GPIO13 handshaking.
