TMS320F280025C: A conflict of High-Resolution Dead-Band's description

Part Number: TMS320F280025C

Hi Team,

In spruin7a_TMS320F28002x Real-Time Microcontrollers Technical Reference Manual (Rev. A),

Page 1807, 17.15.1.5.3 Duty Cycle Range Limitation

Page 181217.15.1.6 Deadband High Resolution Operation

It seems there is a conflict.

Pls take a look of this.

  • Hello Yale,

    Thank you for pointing this out! I'm looking into this to determine which is the more accurate note, and once I have confirmation, I'll let you know and move forward on getting that fixed. In the meantime, I believe that best practice is to adhere to the stricter of the two listed requirements, i.e. DBRED/DBFED >= 7 for use of HRDBRED/HRDBFED until I am able to locate confirmation one way or another.

    Thank you again,

    Jason Osborn

  • Hello Yale,

    Speaking to my colleagues, I found what seems to be a sufficient answer!

    The requirements can be summarized as such;

    1. When using the HRPWM, if you don't need to use HRDB and you are using the DB, DBRED/DBFED must be >3
    2. When using the HRPWM, if you do need to use HRDB, DBRED/DBFED >=7

    I definitely agree that the wording here is unclear, and I'll be seeing about filing a ticket to get that clarified.

    I hope that makes sense,
    Jason Osborn
