TMS320F28386S-Q1: Is the TMS320F28386S-Q1 now a functional safety certified product?

Hi Team,

I understand from the other thread below that the "F2838x and F28003x are in the process of safety certification to the same level as the F2837x series." Our customer would like to confirm if the TMS320F28386S-Q1 is now functional safety certified product.

According to our customer,

We have gone through the Automotive Functional safety for C2000 Real time microcontroller document "swab014b".

"TMS320F28386S-Q1" microcontroller meets our requirements. We noticed that the "TMS320F28386S-Q1" microcontroller is not listed as a supporting device in the c2000 SAFETI CQKIT, and we also observed that Ethernet is not available in the supported controllers listed on the website: https://www.ti.com/tool/SAFETI_CQKIT.

1. Could you please confirm if the "TMS320F28386S-Q1" microcontroller is compatible with the "c2000 SAFETI CQKIT"

2. Is Composer Studio is certified to use IEC61508 SIL3?

Are you referring to the list of "Supported products & hardware" link on the CQKIT page? That's not a complete list. The CQKIT is not specific only to certain C2000 devices since the same compiler can be used on any of the C28x and CLA cores. As long as you are using an LTS version of the compiler, the CQKIT will be applicable.

Code Composer Studio itself is not certified.
