C2000-GANG: C2000-GANG Performance problem

Part Number: C2000-GANG
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F280049, UNIFLASH

Hi

We used this product under the environment of 25° temperature, 40RH humidity, and 3.3V voltage. The specific situation is as follows: The burner self-test failed and the chip could not be burned.
Burner function, using J-TAG interface burning, as shown below:

Could you please help us to confirm the cause and how should we solve this anomaly
Thank you

  • Hi our subject matter expert is out of the office today but should be able to respond later this week.  In the meantime, can you please answer the following questions:

    1) What C2000 device are you programming?

    2) Have you ever successfully programmed this C2000 device with C2000-GANG?

    3) If yes, how many devices have been successful?  How many are failing?

  • 1) The chip model of the test is TMS320F280049 2) The only board of this product in hand 3) The test has failed for many times

  • I apologize, the SME had to extend his absence and wont return until Tuesday.  In the meantime, let me ask a few questions:

I presume this is a custom board and not TI hardware, please correct me if wrong.

    1) Is it a new design or has it been in production?

    2) Are you able to program the device with a JTAG debug probe (e.g. XDS110) and CCS/Uniflash without the C2000-GANG?

    3) Is this the first time you are using C2000-GANG or have you successfully used it on any project?

  • Also, can you reply what error message the C2000-GANG is giving you as well as the FW revision on the C2000-GANG SW.

    Best,
    Matthew

  • Hi

We are the first time to use the C2000 burner, there is no XDS110 burner, we have not done the C2000 series MCU products before
We have not purchased the XDS110. The attachment is the specific bad conditions we burned, please help to confirm
    thank you

  • Thank you for the test log.  This looks to be failing for not detecting power to the device(C2000).  Pin 5 of the JTAG header should be shorted to the VDDIO(3.3V) supply of the C2000/PCB; the debugger checks the voltage on this pin to verify that the device is powered before attempting the connection.

Can you verify on your PCB that pin5 has a voltage during the test?  This pin is usually called "PD" for power detect, I'm not certain why it is listed as Vext on your schematic.

    Best,

    Matthew
