TMS320F28P650DH: TMS320F28P65 max adc error

Part Number: TMS320F28P650DH

Tool/software:

TMS320F28P65 adc max error how to calculate?

which one was constant error?

which one was random error?

i know the Gain Error is constant error ,i can calibration by firmware

but the random error can't calibration by firmware

  • Hello Jaures,

There is no "random" error spec here. All of the error specs quoted in the table above are static forms of error - gain, offset, INL, DNL.

I assume you mean to say dynamic error. That would be reflected in the AC characteristics (SNR, THD, ENOB).

    Best regards,
    Ibukun

  • hi sir

    yes!i mean dynamic error.

but how to calculate the max dynamic error.?

    like max dynamic error LSB =(SNR^2 + THD^2 + SFDR^2 + SINAD^2 + OTHERS^2)^0.5

  • I don't think the concept of "max dynamic error" makes sense here. The AC characteristic numbers given in the data sheet are typical numbers and assume ideal setup conditions. Most practical setups will have some additional source of SNR that will impact ENOB (effective number of bits). ENOB is generally the number you would use to estimate how much dynamic error you might have in the ADC. In an application board though, you probably want to do an FFT analysis using your ADC setup and calculate the SNR & THD to see what those numbers are. Depending on the circuit design and other environmental elements, it is possible for the measurements to be close to par or a lot worse.
