Tool/software:
Hello,
I don't know if this is asked previously or not. The datasheet is bugging me:
TMS320F28P650DK, TMS320F28P659DK-Q1
SPRSP69B – JULY 2023 – REVISED NOVEMBER 2023
On page 164 of the datasheet for TMS320F28P659DK, the analog signal mapping does not show dots in front of ADC B8, B9, B10, B11. So one would think they are not multiplexed. But they are routed to ADC C.
This is either a graphical mistake in the datasheet, or TI is trying to tell us something that I don't get. Since I am using those B's on ADC C, I just want to confirm that this is a mistake in the graphics of the datasheet.
Regards,
Hello Pourya,
Thanks for sharing this and bringing it to our notice, you are right this is just a Graphic error in Datasheet.
I will discuss this with the internal team and get it rectified.
There is no problem in using those pins with ADC B.
Thanks,
Nilesh
Hi Pourya,
Pin resources from the left side of the diagram indicated by the red arrow tab connect directly to the ADC module as noted by the long horizontal arrow. The dots connecting to the vertical lines are showing interconnect (mux) to other ADC resources. If there are no dots to a pin resource, it just means that the pin only goes to the specified ADC module.
This is how to interpret the pins that you have highlighted above:
- B8, B9, B10 and B11 exclusively connect to ADCB as denoted by the long horizontal arrow lines. These pins do not go to ADCA or ADCC as there are no interconnects (dots) to any of the three vertical lines.
- A8, A9, A10 and A11 both go the ADCA (long horizontal arrow lines from the read arrow tab) and on ADCC (with connecting dots on the first vertical line). On ADCC, these A8 -> C24, A9->C25, A10->C26 and A11->C27
Hope this example clarifies the channel interconnects for you.
Regards,
Joseph
Hi Pourya,
Sorry, for the case of B9, B10, B11 and B12, i just realized that there needs to be dots on the second vertical line since these pins go to ADCC where B9->C28, B10->C29, B11->C30 and B12->C31. I'll modify the diagram and have this corrected.
Regards,
Joseph
