TMS320F280049C: Configuring Boot mode

Part Number: TMS320F280049C

Tool/software:

Hi
is it possible to update the firmware without using Default Boot Modes?
we observed that our PCB can update firmware even when default boot modes  pins (GPIO24 and GPIO32) are floating.
thanks
  • Hi Ethan,

The device will boot according to the state of the designated boot mode pins as this is defined in the device boot ROM (as described in the device TRM). What mode is your device booting in (can be confirmed by connecting to the device and loading the bootROM symbols upon startup - if you need a deeper description let me know) and how are you able to confirm that a firmware update is occurring? Is the intent to use a specific boot mode/communication peripheral to bootload?

    Best Regards,

    Allison
