TMS320F28P650DK: Supports communication between 485 and 232

Part Number: TMS320F28P650DK

Tool/software:

Hi,

Customer previously F28377DPTP, now evaluate using F28P650DK6PTP.

Now have a question to confirm:

The customer uses 4 SCI channels in F28377, one of which is used to burn and connect the background, one is 485 communication, and two are connected to the servo encoder communication.

The F28P65 peripheral has only 2 SCI channels, and if the other two channels are implemented with LIN, can it support high-speed communication?

Looking forward to your reply!

  • Hi Rhea,

LIN can support SCI but it doesn't support as high a speed for communication as SCI

    Regards,

    Peter

  • Hi Rhea,

The max baud rate for LIN in SCI mode is VCLK/32 (6.25 MHz for F28P65x). Is this speed sufficient?

    Best Regards,

    Delaney

  • Hi Delaney,

Thank you very much for your reply! The rate of LIN as SCI can meet the demand.

Now there is another problem about TZ, the customer needs 4 TZ signals, P65 only has 3, which is a little different from F28377. Can this be configured? Which foot is more suitable?

This is the Tz pin currently configured by the customer, please help to confirm whether this configuration is OK?

P65 Is there any routine code for TZ configuration that you can refer to?

Looking forward to your reply! Thanks~

  • Hi Rhea,

Delaney is currently out of office and will get back to you as soon as possible when she returns next week.

    Best Regards,

    Allison

  • Hi Allison,

Thank you for your kind reply!

I have a few more questions, and I want to get them out of sync.

    1. Does JTAG need to be reset?
    2. What is the single GPIO driving capability? Can you drive the optocoupler directly?
    3. Does F28P650DK6PTP require external ADC reference voltage?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Allison,

    Any update feedback?

    Thanks~

  • Hi Rhea,

I apologize for the delay. I am going to loop in some other experts to help with your further questions. Let me know if you have any other questions about SCI or LIN and I can help with those as well.

    Best Regards,

    Delaney

  • Hi,

    1. Does JTAG need to be reset?

Why are you asking this? I don't see any reason JTAG would need to be reset.
