Hi Team,

We are going to use the TMS320F280039C Launchpad for BLDC motor control and UDS stack development process.

In that process consists of the following two project,

1. Boot code

2. Application code

In boot code the flashing process are available. While power on the device, i want to change the boot process to application code.

For the same i have to include the following changes

1. Reset vector - separate location in application code

2. Vector table - want to change the default location(0xd00) into some other ram location in application code

3. i want to know how to enable the software reset in the project

Are you asking if you can change the boot code? That is not possible as it's defined in TI programmed, read-only memory.

If you look into the memory map for the reset vector, you'll find that address 0x003F FFC0 is in Boot ROM which users cannot program. Reset is always fetched from that location. After CPU reset, CPU executes the boot code in ROM and then jumps to user application code (code_start). In linker cmd file, .reset is mapped to the RESET section (reset vector) but it's not used.

I don't believe you can change the PIE vector table default location. The active interrupt addresses are always mapped at 0xD00-0xEFF.

You can perform a watchdog reset using the SysCtl_resetDevice() driverlib function in sysctl.h

Hi Matt,

I included the software reset code

While executing this code, the following error will be occurred

The software reset also not working.

Kindly resolve this issue.

Hello,

That is expected, the device is currently in wait boot after resetting.

From the F28003x TRM:

Since you have a debugger connected, the device is following the emulation boot procedure. Assuming you haven't configured the emulation boot registers, the device will enter wait boot. Please refer to Section 2.2 in this user's guide for more details on configuring emulation boot: https://www.ti.com/lit/sprujh3

Hi,

It is possible by modifying the GEL files (ccs\ccs_base\emulation\gel\f280039.gel) to configure the emulation boot registers on reset. See this thread for an example of how this is achieved. Any user-defined function can be called inside OnReset() function.
