TMDSCNCD28P65X: Enable boot from flash using code composer studio

Good evening,

ich have read several posts concerning the problem by boot from flash. However I have not found a "simple" solution to enable the boot from flash option for the F28P65X.

I checked that the Switch S3 is both 1, 1 such that according to the documentation the "standalone boot from flash" should be enabled. However when I build, flash and afterwads disconnect the device and only power it, it does not boot and let the LED blink (as flashed previously).

Currently I am working with the newest version of ccs (20.1.1), there I have not found any possibility to configure the BOOTCTL.

I tried as well setting the boot from flash in the CSS 12.4.0, there I found the tools-OnChipFlash section.
however after reading this post (https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000-microcontrollers-group/c2000/f/c2000-microcontrollers-forum/1245895/tms320f280039c-how-to-write-to-otp-for-standalone-boot) I was rather scared to mess with the Z1_GPREGs.

What is the "correct solution to set the standalone boot from flash in either CSS 20.1.1 or in 12.4.0 or 12.7.0

Hi Isabella,

I apologize for the delay, the thread got routed incorrectly.

Are you trying to boot from flash standalone (i.e. without an emulator connection)? Please refer to Table 4-1 in the F28P65x ControlCard User's Guide to configure the device for use in CCS or to boot from flash standalone.

If so, you want S1 Position 1 and 2 = OFF (to disconnect from the XDS110) and S3 Position 1 and 2 = ON (which you've have configured already)

If you use the CPU1_FLASH build configuration, it'll automatically use the flash linker command file for the build.
