New revision (R1.1) of TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

We have released a new revision of the popular High Voltage Motor Control Kit TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT

This takes the place of the previous R5 that has been in production.

This revision can be identified by the new YELLOW PCB.

Major enhancements are to both the current/voltage sensing and protection circuitry. Minor enhancements include new GUIs.

All of the previous projects are supported for both the Piccolo F28035 and Delfino F28335, as well as new projects that showcase sensorless FOC running on the Piccolo CLA (parallel control law accelerator, now C programmable)

One Note: The first batch of kits that shipped out did NOT have the F28035 controCARD programmed with the GUI .out.  You will simply need to connect to the card and program the .out (in CCS - Load Program...) before you open the GUI.

  • Some other differences to note:

    -Different ADC channel mapping

    -Different PWM ch for PWMDAC

-Higher quality sensing with three shunts and Kelvin grounds

Phase and bus voltage scaling can be changed using the jumpers (J1-4) on the inverter.

If it is a low voltage motor, the scaling will help to increase the max measurable voltage and hence the resolution.

    Higher resolution voltage sensing option.

    -Higher performance PFC

    - Better protection

better OCP (9A peak default, but configurable 0-10Amps via jumper and potentiometer).  OCP signal trips the PWMs, shut down the IPM and latch the fault signal until cleaned by the user. (or disabled by jumper)
