DRV8312-69M-KIT controlSuite Documentation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE, MOTORWARE, TMDSCNCD28069ISO, LM3S818, DRV8301

I don't see any DRV8312-69M-KIT Documentation is the controlSuite development_kits sub-directories.  The sales site only provides generic InstaSPIN documentation.  Can you provide links to this kit's detailed documentation.  Perhaps I have overlooked something.

  • Hello,
You can look it here controlSUITE\development_kits\DRV8312-C2-KIT_v128 for hardware design
and here motorware\motorware_1_01_00_14\docs\boards\drive\drv8312kit_revD\docs for user guide.
For ControlCard 69M, you can find it here \controlSUITE\development_kits\~controlCARDs\TMDSCNCD28069ISO_v1_1
    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    Maria

  • Maria-Thanks,
As per your recommendation, I have been reviewing the DRV8312-C2-KIT documentation. The DRV8312-69M-KIT and DRV8312-C2-KIT appear to have identical DRV8312EVM boards. These boards appear very similar to the Stellaris DK-LM3S-DRV8312. Although not explicitly stated, these three kits appear to be very similar; excluding the difference in microcontrollers supplied (F28035 vs. F28069 vs. Stellaris® LM3S818 ). The reason for the existence of 3 kit discovery routes being possibly that TI is a very large compartmentalized organization. That being said, I am assuming it may be reasonably safe to proceed with the following lab exercises-

1.)PM_Sensorless: Sensorless Field Oriented Control of Permanent Magnet Motor
2.)BLDC_Sensored: Sensored Trapezoidal Control of BLDC Motors
3.)BLDC_Sensorless: Sensorless Trapezoidal Control of BLDC Motors
4.)InstaSPIN_BLDC: Sensorless Trapezoidal Control of BLDC Motors

    found in the document "C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\DRV8312-C2-KIT_v128\~Docs\DRV8312-C2-KIT_HowToRunGuide_v101.pdf"

    Thanks,

  • Hello Kurt,
Yes, DRV8312-C2-KIT is compatible for F28035 ControlCard and F28069M ControlCard. I don't know about Stellaris because I haven't checked it, but if you said so, I think it is.
It is also safe to use the example from DRV8312-C2-KIT folder from ControlSuite for F28069M MCU, only you need to migrate the code from F28035 into F28069.
    Good luck!

    Best regards,
    Maria
  • Yes, migrate the code from F28035 into F28069.  That is just one of my many challenges.  It can be done.  It is worthy to mention that the DRV8312GUIv5.out code and GUI DRV8312GUIv5.exe interface found in C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\DRV8312-C2-KIT_v128\~GUI cannot be used for the 28069 kit.  I have been using the "C:\ti\guicomposer\webapps\InstaSPIN_FOC_F2806xM.exe" GUI application and associated "appProgram.out" successfully for this kit and the associated DRV8301 kit.  I believe I am aquiring enough skills to begin wandering through the "C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_13\docs\labs\instaspin_labs.pdf" with a reasonable amount of understanding.

    Thanks,

    Kurt
