TMS320F28379D CLB Application note

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28379D, TMS320F28377D

Hi,

I am exploring TMS320F28377D and TMS320F28379D controller for my inverter application. There is no difference between this two controller excluding CLB. While starting to explore CLB, I found that there is no detail provided by TI in user manual and data sheet has just one paragraph about general idea of CLB. I want to use CLB functionality please provide further detail about it. Detail documentation and How to use?

Thanks and Regards,

  • Maulik,

You are correct that the CLB feature is the difference between '377 and '379 devices. We do not make CLB configurable by our customers today.  As our datasheet states:

TI uses the CLB to offer additional interfacing and control features for select C2000 devices. Functions that would otherwise be accomplished using external logic devices are now provided by on-chip TI solutions. For example, absolute encoder master protocol interfaces such as EnDat and BiSS are now provided by TI as Position Manager solutions.

If you are trying to interface to absolute encoders, then Position Manager is a great solution.

What external logic functions are you interested to add?
