F28379D Delfino Experimenter Kit

I have a question regarding the schematic of the F28379D Delfino Experimenter Kit. I.m wondering why the pullup and the pulldown resistors are so different for the boot mode selection. (56K pullup vs 2K2 pull down).

  • Hi Dany,

It is an artifact of the way that the switches control the boot mode.  Notice that a SPST switch was used.

If the switch is open, the pin will get pulled high with a 56K pull-up.
If the switch is closed, the pin will get pulled low - the 2K2 pulldown will overpower the 56K pullup.

If the controlCARD used a SPDT switch or jumpers to choose between the boot modes, the pull resistors could be the same.  I'd probably use 10K-47K resistors in this case.

    Hopefully this helps!

    Thank you,
    Brett
