Hi,

I would like to know if any vendor could supply the TIDM 1003 board. I would like to have one for my BLDC motor control.

how to programme TIDM 1003. Also let me know which emulator is suggested for programming.

Hi KVRao,

There are no vendors who will supply this board, it is intended to be provided only with the design files for you to create with your own board manufacturer. The MCU can be programmed with an XDS100v2 JTAG as suggested in the TI Design manual found here: www.ti.com/.../tidud29.pdf

Thanks Sean for your immediate response. I have XDS510LC JTAG emulator. Does this work for emulation?.

Could you also let me know if the motorcontrol firmware for TIDM 1003 is ready for download.

Hi KV, I believe the XDS510LC should work, although I've never tried it. You'll see from the design files that the appropriate JTAG communication signals are broken out to pads - not a header - so you'll need to do some custom blue wiring or similar to access the signals. I've never used the XDS510LC, but I found a few threads that should be helpful

Some of the threads are old, but the info should still be applicable.

The software intended for use with TIDM-1003 is already available in Motorware 18. This TI design uses InstaSPIN-FOC for motor control.

Thanks for your inputs. Considering the time factor I would like to buy XDS100V2 (store.ti.com/TMDSEMU100V2U-20T-XDS100v2-JTAG-Debug-Probe-20-pin-cTI-version-P1848.aspx ).
Couple of questions
1) The debugger ships with 20 pin header. How to connect with TIDM 1003?.
2) And also there is no header on TIDM 1003??. ie., J9 is missing in the board. Please suggest.
3) I have free license of CCS. Does it work.

If you buy the 20 pin header, you could blue wire the appropriate signals from the JTAG connector to the pads on the TIDM-1003. I'm not sure about the missing header, if there is a space for a header to be soldered you may consider doing that. A free license of CCS will work with the XDS100v2 debugger
