CCS/TMS320F28069: Trouble Halting Target CPU Issue

Part Number: TMS320F28069

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I am using 28069 chip with CCS 8.1. I often have below picture's issue.

Trouble Halting Target CPU: (error -1156 @0x0), Device may be operating in low-power mode. All of the variables in real time debugging will be frozen. "Reset CPU" or Restart in debugging do not working. I have to to flash the code.

Can you please give me a hand?

This is a pretty common question here, you need only search to find it.

    You can start here: http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/ccsv7_debugging_jtag_connectivity_issues.html

Here are some other threads with the same topic:

  • Hi Mark,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

The issue is: I pressed the "Yes" button and tried to wake up the controller. However, the controller can not wake up and the debugging variables keeps frozen (like value: xxBAD...). I have to re-flash the code.
  • Did you look through the other e2e threads? Sometimes when this error occurs, it indicates that the JTAG connection was lost and may not necessarily indicate that the device has entered and LPM.

What exactly are you doing in the moments leading up to the error pop up? Are you enabling a power stage? truly entering an LPM of the device? Connecting an external device? This is important information so that we can understand the state of the device when the error occurs.
