TMS320F28069M: FOC application: motor stalling

Part Number: TMS320F28069M

HI,

Can anyone explain how well FOC could work in an application where the motor is purposefully stalled? The application is to use the motor to apply a given force, controlled by motor current, without the motor spinning.

I did some testing using Lab2a but found under load the motor was oscillating - I think between poles, rather than applying a fixed load. This might be down to tuning, which I'm investigating today, but I'm curious to know if there is a fundamental problem with FOC operating in this manner?
